Supporting kids through their various sporting activities to stay active can be a costly exercise for families, and can even factor some kids out of sport.
So it’s great to see the New South Wales Government has made it easier to get kids moving through its Active Kids program.
Active Kids provides a voucher to eligible parents/guardians/carers of up to $100, which can be redeemed towards the payment of registration or membership fees with an approved provider. The program isn’t means tested and makes one voucher available per eligible child each calendar year for four years.
What can it be used for?
Costs associated with activities provided by a registered Active Kids provider, that are part of a structured program running for at least 8 weeks which involves regular moderate or intense levels of physical activity, can be subsidised and include:
- registration fees
- membership fees
- participation fees
- swimming lesson fees.
